Power 100: Women in Entertainment Breakfast

The Hollywood Reporter hosted its annual Power 100: Women in Entertainment Breakfast on Tuesday, December 7 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This year, CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Katie Couric delivered the keynote remarks, and Academy Award®-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren received the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award which is presented annually to a woman of unusual distinction and originality who has carved a unique career and at the same time contributed significantly to the social good. Academy Award® winner Halle Berry, who was the 2009 recipient, presented this year’s award to Mirren.
The Women in Entertainment Breakfast is held annually in conjunction with the publication of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Power 100: Women in Entertainment” special issue, which highlights the top 100 women in the motion picture, television and related industries. Since its inception 18 years ago, the annual Women in Entertainment Breakfast has been - and this year is again - presented by Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network. In addition to Lifetime, this year’s breakfast is in association with L’OrĂ©al Paris, The Gersh Agency, Iconix, Neilsen, Netflix, Spanx and WomenHeart.

Peace Over Violence is a social service agency formerly called Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women, or LACAAW. They changed their name at their 35th anniversary in 2006 to reflect the growing range of programs they offer, which have expanded beyond one on one intervention in sexual assaults and domestic abuse, toward one by one prevention of youth violence and child abuse, while running a range of specialized services reaching underserved groups like Latinas, Deaf, Disabled and Elder, LGBTQ, and Youth.

Months after millions of viewers were riveted by Lost's finale, fans were given the opportunity to bid a final farewell to the landmark series, as SCREAM 2010 brought together the show's cast and creators, including Jorge Garcia, Harold Perrineau, Henry Ian Cusick, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, for a tribute to the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. The two-hour event premieres on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 19 (9:00PM/ 11:00 PM, ET/PT). The show featured a musical performance by Grammy and Academy Award-nominee M.I.A., as well as appearances by Kristen Stewart, Megan Fox, Mickey Rourke, Marilyn Manson and Chris Hemsworth. These luminaries joined a host of previously announced SCREAM 2010 talent, including the reunion of Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson and Elisabeth Shue onstage in honor of the 25th anniversary of the original "Back To The Future," the presentation of never-before-seen footage "Scream 4" by franchise creator Wes Craven and stars David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere, Academy Award-Winner Sir Anthony Hopkins introduced world premiere footage of his upcoming supernatural thriller "The Rite," and an exclusive first look at "Paranormal Activity 2." "SCREAM 2010" presented awards in 33 different categories. Christopher Nolan's summer science fiction blockbuster "Inception" led the way with nominations in 14 categories, including "The Ultimate Scream," "Best Ensemble," and "Fight Scene of the Year." "Kick-Ass" was nominated in 13 categories for a total of 17 nominations, while Tony Stark's adventures in "Iron Man 2" garnered 13 nominations. HBO's "True Blood" had the most nominations of any television series with 10. The official sponsors of Spike TV's SCREAM 2010 were FreeCreditScore.com, Geico, Subaru and Taco Bell. Casey Patterson, Michael Levitt and Cindy Levitt served as executive producers for ìSCREAM 2010.î Greg Sills was supervising producer, Gary Tellalian and Austin Reading were producers and Hamish Hamilton directed. 38th Annual AFI Lifetime Achievement Award

For 38 years, the AFI Life Achievement Award has remained the highest honor for a career in film. AFI also honors the most outstanding motion pictures and television programs of the year at AFI Awards, the institute's almanac for the 21st century, while AFI's 100 Years/100 Movies... series and definitive movie reference lists as well as AFI Night at the Movies have introduced and reintroduced classic American movies to millions of film lovers. And as the largest nonprofit exhibitor in the United States, AFI offers film enthusiasts a variety of events throughout the year, including AFI FEST presented by Audi, the longest running international film festival in Los Angeles, AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs documentary festival in Silver Spring, Maryland and year-round programming at the AFI Silver Theatre in the Washington DC, area.
