“Chef Dinners” at Sunset Strip Market – October


Tonight is the first in a series of  “chef dinners” at the Sunset Strip Market for October. The goal of the Chef Dinner program is to provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy a true “farm-to-table” dinner at the Market and to know that the produce and meat has been sourced from a local, California farms. This is a unique program that not only showcases the participating restaurant and chef, but also provides yet another way for guests to interact with the weekly farmers’ market and farms. The majority of ingredients used during for the Chef Dinner menu are sourced from the Market’s farms and artisans.


Thursday, Oct. 11 – Gastrobus

The Gastrobus will present a farmers’ market dinner using produce and meat sourced from the Market’s farms and artisans. The menu features fresh California produce and ingredients from Shear Rock Farm, Polito Farm, Moua Farms, Soledad Goat Cheese and includes:

SNACKS
Cherry tomato, cucumber & farro salad
Soledad’s goats cheese & tomato vinaigrette

Corn flapjacks
Farmstead cheese & scallions

Stuffed avocado
Brown rice, kale, seeds, raisins & sesame dressing

SANDWICHES
Ecuadorian Pulled pork sandwich
Pickled onions, garlic aioli & cilantro

Rustic heirloom tomato tart
Caramelized onions, olives & Gruyere

Spiced pumpkin soup
With jalapeño grilled cheese sandwich


Thursday, Oct. 18 – Jimenez Family Farms, Bean & Thyme

Join farmer Marcie Jimenez and Bean & Thyme chef Paul Osher for a farm-to-table menu featuring:
-Spicy Braised “Lambwiches”
-BLT sandwiches
-Apple Melts (grilled cheese w/ pickled apples)
-Corn and chopped kale salad

All sustainably-raised meat and produce will be sourced from Jimenez Family Farms.


Thursday, Oct. 25 – The Roxy’s Grilled Cheese Night

The Roxy returns Oct. 25 to present the second edition of their gourmet grilled cheese night. Chef Michele Grant will create a selection of grilled cheese sandwiches with more than 90% of ingredients sourced directly from the farmers’ market (Silver Lake Farms microgreens, Dey Dey Best Beef (And Chicken) Ever, Gama Farms, Tenerelli Orchards, Jimenez Farms, Milk Man farmstead cheeses). Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

Last month’s grilled cheese selections included:
-Classic grilled cheese: Appenzeller cheese on sourdough.
-Grilled chicken, caraway roasted cauliflower on squaw bread. Havarti-style cheese.
-Braised lamb and raclette cheese, caramelized shallots on pistachio raisin bread.
-Soyrizo, Jack Daiya, jalapenos, on sourdough bread with Market fresh pico de gallo. (Vegan)
-Rum and ginger roasted nectarines, fromage blanc on brioche bread, French-toast style.


The Market also offers a selection of California wines and craft beers for guests ages 21 and older to pair with their meals.

The Sunset Strip Market features certified and organic farmers as well as non-agricultural, local artisans who utilize farm fresh ingredients. The Sunset Strip Market occurs every Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at 8755 Sunset Boulevard, in the City of West Hollywood lot located between Horn Avenue and Sherbourne Drive. Rain or shine, except major holidays.
