Tuesday April 6, 2010 ROCKWALK GUITAR CENTER SUNSET, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA Scorpions are a heavy metal[/hard rock band from Hannover, Germany, probably best known for their 1980s rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and their singles "No One Like You", "Send Me an Angel, "Still Loving You", and "Wind of Change". The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, and they were ranked #46 on VH1's Greatest Artists of Hard Rock program."Rock You Like a Hurricane" is also #18 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. After 45 years of performing, the band continues to tour and record music. On January 24, 2010, the band announced that they will be retiring after touring in support of their forthcoming album Sting in the Tail. Fans came out in droves along the famousSunset Strip in Los Angeles today to prove they’re Still Loving the German rock bandScorpions. The band was honored Today at a Hollywood Rock Walk handprint ceremony at Guitar Center. The Sunset Boulevard location of the Guitar Center chain of stores in Los Angeles hosts Hollywood's RockWalk, a hall of fame honoring over 170 notable musical artists ranging from Black Sabbath and Aerosmith to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden as well as others who have been instrumental in the music industry's history like Robert Moog and C.F Martin III. Artists are invited to place their handprints into cement blocks that are put on display at the Guitar Center. A complete list of all inducted artists can be found on the Rockwalk website.
