The Princess and the Frog Premiere

Sunday November 15, 2009

DISNEY

WALT DISNEY STUDIOS, BURBANK, CA

Walt Disney Studios opened its gates for this unprecedented WORLD PREMIERE in the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Studio theater, right in the heart of the Disney Studio lot. Disney’s latest animated musical THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG features Disney’s newest princess, as well as a host of memorable characters, including Louis, the jazz-playing alligator, and Ray, the lovesick Cajun firefly. The film was followed by a special opportunity to take part in The Ultimate Experience, located inside Stage 3 at the Studio and featuring fun for the whole family.

The Ultimate Disney Experience is an exciting extravaganza that will feature—for the first time ever—all nine of the Disney princesses (including the film’s Princess Tiana, Disney’s newest princess), as well as exciting Bayou games, movie archives, how-to presentations from Disney animators, Studio tours and more. The Experience was created as part of a special engagement which invites guests in Los Angeles and New York to see the film Nov. 25-Dec. 13, 2009, at the Walt Disney Studios Theater in Burbank, and in Clearview’s historic Ziegfeld Theatre in NYC

Born on This Day - July 7

Some of the people who are celebrating their birthday today include:
Michelle Kwan (1980):

Champion figure skater who decided against taking her coach’s advice, and applied for Senior status at the tender age of 12. Kwan’s decision was a wise one, and her first experience in the 1994 World Championships earned her an impressive 8th place skate. Some of the coveted titles that Kwan has won include the 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 World Championships, the Silver medal in the 1998 Olympics and the Bronze in the 2002 Olympics.

Cree Summer (1970):

Actress and musician who started to make money at the age of 13, voicing cartoon characters. Summer made a successful career out of being the voice of such characters as Penny on "Inspector Gadget," Elmyra on "Tiny Toon Adventures," Princess Kitana on "Mortal Combat," She-Hulk on "The Incredible Hulk," The Green M&M in the "M&M’s Commercials," Vonda on "Men in Black" and Susie Carmichael on the "Rugrats" (including this summer's theatrical release, Rugrats Go Wild!). In addition to her phenomenal success in voice-overs, Summer starred in front of the camera as Freddie on the hit series "A Different World." Also involved in the music world, Summer released the album "Street Faerie" in 1999.
